Is basketball a popular sport in New Zealand? I think our country could be considered a basketball country since majority of the citizens here simply love this physical activity. We even elect public officials that are former basketball players.

Haven't read about it, Chel and I wonder if they do have a basketball team since rugby is the famous played sport there. But I do read about Netball which as they say is similar to basketball but then primarily played by women.

The NZ have there very own basketball league called the NBL. Not as popular as the NBA but they have some talented athletes in the league also. The league has 10 teams competing.

Well, the Kiwi team did play in the recent Olympics. Didn't do very well I'm afraid.
