Float a galaxy world of glow-worms on subterranean streams. Get excited as you slide down underground water-falls or by taking a cuddle through the love tunnel! Discover enchanting limestone formations in these Castles of the Underworld. This is an adventure that is fun, exciting, has some personal challenge along with a touch of environmental knowledge. It finishes up with a relaxing hot shower and pleasure spa with a drink and a snack afterwards?
Our cave rafting (we are actually on tubes and not rafts!) adventure is flexible and can provide as much or as little challenge as you are comfortable with as there are various ways to go through the cave system.
Every trip is different depending on what you want to get out of your trip so they can suit most people down to as young as 8 years including families. You do need average fitness to enjoy it.
The trip is in a wild, natural cave so parts of it you walk through, parts you slide, climb or cuddle (which your guides help you with-that’s the climbing bits, the cuddling you have do yourself!) along with different floating sections on tubes across flat, slow moving water done in the dark to the galaxy light of amazing displays of glow-worms.
In between the floating sections you can do things like slide down an underground waterfall or cuddle through the Love Tunnel. To finish with ride the" Wild West Big Wet & Greasy"! A 100 foot natural rock hydroslide.
You can choose to do what you want, some do everything while others just do what they are comfortable with as everything is optional.
The cost is $145 per person or $230 with an abseil.

Where to meet.
Our base is in the centre of Greymouth. The address is 8 Whall Street, Greymouth, next to McDonalds Trip Times Twice daily 8.00am and 1:15pm.(2:00pm Nov 1st to March 31st) 7 days a week all year.
Morning tours are finished in time to catch the Tranz-Alpine Train or afternoon coaches and we will wait for you if you are coming in on the train to do an afternoon trip.

Pickups: We can arrange a pickup for you from your accommodation in the Greymouth area at a cost of $3 per person each way. If you are coming off the bus or train you can make the afternoon tour. Bring your luggage to our base which is 4 minutes walk from the station. We will drop you off with your luggage at your accommodation after the tour.

Time to Allow: About 5 hours including the spa. You are underground about 2 hours.

How long to get to the cave?

What do I bring?
Towel and swimsuit or spare underwear. Put on under your clothes before coming if you can, there are change rooms What does the company supply? We supply everything else including wetsuits, socks, boots and thermal underwear for those without their own swimsuits. Gloves, fibre pile clothes & inner booties are also supplied to keep you toasty warm at all times during your adventure.

This is a living wild cave with no tracks, steps or handrails and requires average fitness to enjoy it. (ie can you walk for 3 hours with only a 5 minute rest each half hour without panting & wheezing! Not that we do this but it indicates the fitness level required!).
The trip finishes with hot showers and an indoor heated spa in which you are welcome to relax for as long as you like after your trip. Usually visitors spend about 45 minutes of the trips 5 hours in the spa at trips conclusion. We also supply a hot drink and a snack during this time but note that this is not a meal.
